Download Your Copy of Preparing to Die Book
As a participant in The Preparing to Die Program, you receive a digital copy of Preparing to Die: Practical Advice and Spiritual Wisdom from the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition book.
The book is divided into two principal parts: spiritual and practical preparation. Each is further divided into what to do before, during, and after death — for yourself and others. This provides a framework that can be easily referenced during any stage of the dying process. This book also serves as a valuable companion to our Preparing to Die Program. Download it from the resources space within the community.
What to Expect During The Preparing to Die Cohort
Each module will be based on one of the two death bardos (“gap, transitional process”) we are covering in this program:
The Painful Bardo of Dying and The Karmic Bardo of Becoming. This bardo material will be presented as a series of self-guided, pre-recorded online audio courses, which will be accessible starting the program’s first week.
Then, each Wednesday throughout the course, you will participate in a 90-minute Zoom session led by Andrew, where he will provide a combination of new material, guided meditations, and answer your questions.
Rest assured, if you cannot attend the live session, recordings will be available within 24 to 48 hours in the recordings space. These recordings will be available for 6 months after the program.
Connect with fellow participants and deepen your learning in an hour-long Zoom integration group led by Teaching Assistant, Chelsea Waves.
These weekly sessions offer a space to practice, discuss course material, and share experiences. We will share the times and dates at least a few weeks before the start date.
We’ve scheduled these at different times to foster a global community. Andrew will not be joining these gatherings; we welcome all participants to attend. The discussion groups will not be recorded to ensure the privacy of participants.
Questions?
Please reach out to the teaching assistant, Chelsea, at chelsea@andrewholecek.com with any content-related questions or for emotional support.
If you have any technical questions, please contact Kate at kate@andrewholecek.com for technical support.
Any general content-related questions Chelsea can not directly answer will be forwarded to Andrew, who will provide answers as his schedule allows.
This could be done by email or at the weekly session with Andrew. We encourage you to be mindful of the number of questions you ask each week to allow all participants the opportunity to share and learn.
A message from Andrew on submitting questions: “I understand that you may have questions as you progress through the course. While I will do my best to respond promptly, please allow some time for me to address them, given my teaching and travel commitments. To ensure efficient communication, please keep your questions concise and related to the course material. The recordings offer valuable insights and can be reviewed repeatedly.”
We’re here to support you every step of the way. Before contacting us, we recommend reviewing the material on the FAQ page covering common concerns.
